Most of us might have seen the magic trick where a knot appeared in a string and all of the sudden the knot disappears again. While the magician lets the string slide through his hands, the viewer observesthe act of the performance and tries to understand the moment where the magic takes place.

The german painter Paul Klee said in 1920: „Art is not visualizing the visible, it makes visible.“ The real moment of an actual situation happening or a tangible object in front of our eyes allows us to enter realm of the perceiving. As humans we have the fundamental desire to understand things, to create a knowledge and to a find a context that is familiar and that has been experienced before. But what happens when something else appears – an unexpected feeling, a glimpse of enthusiasm, a re-vealed moment of being touched? To be able to capture this emotional response to something, we sometimes have to let the magic come close to us only to let it immediately go again.

These six jewellery artists in this exhibition all have different approaches of revealing glimpses ofmagic in their work. “Welcome to Enter…” offers a space to wonder, wonder about and wonder the invisiblebecomes visible.
